Terms of Service
1. Accepting these terms
By using the Al Ahd app or this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. What the app is
Al Ahd is a free devotional companion that helps you keep a daily Dua al-Ahd practice and track a run of 40 consecutive mornings. It is offered for personal, devotional use. It is not a commercial or advisory service.
3. Using the app fairly
Please use the app for its intended personal purpose. You agree not to:
- attack, overload, or try to break the service or its security;
- copy, scrape, or resell the app, its content, or its data for commercial purposes;
- use the app to break the law or to harm others.
4. Sign-in and your account
You can use the app without an account. If you choose to save your progress, you give an email address and sign in through a one-time link sent to it. There are no passwords. You are responsible for access to your own email inbox. Each account is for one person.
5. Religious content
The text of Dua al-Ahd is established religious text. Translations and transliterations are provided to help you follow along and may not be perfect. They are not a substitute for scholarly or authoritative sources. The audio recitation is included for devotional listening, with attribution to the reciter. If you believe any content is in error, please tell us so we can correct it.
6. Availability
The app is designed to work offline for its core practice. Features that depend on our servers (such as saving progress across devices and the latest prayer times) may be unavailable, paused, or changed at any time. We may update, change, or discontinue the app.
7. Provided "as is"
The app is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that prayer times, dates, or any other information are free of error. Please verify times that matter to your worship against a source you trust.
8. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the Al Ahd project will not be liable for any indirect or incidental loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what data the app handles. By using the app you also agree to that policy.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date above and, for significant changes, note it in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Ending use
You can stop using the app at any time and remove your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend access for anyone who misuses the service as described in section 3.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. (To be confirmed on review.)
